My name is Rita Rauscher and I am a pet and animal portrait artist, based in southern Ontario. I specialize in photo-realistic hand painted pet portrait, with occasional requests for other animals as well. To express the rich and varied details of my subject, I primarily work with pastels or pencils.

As a lover of animals you appreciate the love, friendship and loyalty offered by your 4-legged friend. When revealing the final painting, it gives me a sense of accomplishment to hear comments about how I have captured the essence of their pet.
